What to expect

Embrace Zagreb’s charm and savor a great variety of delicacies during your walking tour. Embark on this food quest and satisfy your taste buds while feasting on Croatian specialties. Your licensed local guide will help you discover the top sites the city offers such as: Dolac farmers market, the shortest funicular in the world, medieval Upper Town, Gric Tunnel and the popular Zagreb 360° observation deck.

  • Food tasting as per itinerary: 1) Kulen and Strukle, 2) Pag cheese – 6 different kinds, 3) Croatian marmalade  4) Sarma or Punjena paprika (depending on the season), 5) Zagreb chocolate

Useful information

  • The tour operates Monday-Saturday at 10:00am. (reservation needed)
  • Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required.
  • If you have any food allergies please advise upon booking.
  • Minimum drinking age is 18.
  • Not recommended for people with mobility issues. A moderate amount of walking is involved.
  • The tour operates in all weather conditions. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
  • Small group for a great experience (tour is limited to 15 people)

Full itinerary

  • Start your tour in front of the Croatian National Theater building. Your licensed local guide will provide an overview of the history and tell more about the current lively vibe of Zagreb.
  • Get acquainted with the renowned salami Kulen and one of the most popular dishes of Zagreb – Strukle. Enjoy this dough filled with cottage cheese and sour cream in a restaurant that has arguably the best ones in the city. The brave ones can even spice things up by tasting the local brandy – Rakija.
  • Advance to the largest farmers market of Croatia –  Dolac, and feel the buzz.  Sample the infamous sheep cheese from Pag island that triumphed multiple times as one of the best worldwide.
  • Head to your third stop and try an award-winning Croatian marmalade and a Eco juice. A ride by the shortest funicular in the world brings you to the medieval Upper Town. A stroll and an informative talk about the sights including Strossmayer Promenade, Lotrscak Tower and St. Mark’s Church opens your appetite even more.
  • Savor on the main dish Sarma or Punjene paprike (depending on the season). Sip on a local beverage, Gemist, a combination of wine and sparkling water.
  • Wrap things up and use the Gric Tunnel which was built during WWII as a getaway plan. Your next stop is a pastry shop where you can satisfy your sweet tooth with Croatian chocolates.
  • Conclude the tour with a cup of coffee or tea at the popular Zagreb 360° observation deck.
